To create a customizable Hexapod, I designed the Modular Hexapod with a dovetail tongue and groove inspired by the Simple Spool System for Makerbot. This allows easy part replacement as improvements are made and avoids absolute positioning. Watch my first configuration in action here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/moleofproduction/5318014248/. Powered by Pololu Micro Maestro x6 servo controller and 4 AAA batteries, the Hexapod features a skull attachment adapted from: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4378 printed with a MakerGear .25 nozzle. For instructions on how to print the necessary parts, including base, servo skirts, limb couplings, and more, see above.
