Molding / moulding bracket / box for silicone / resin casting
thingiverse
Print 4 of these silicone casting molds and attach them with clips or parallel pliers in a formation on the picture to create a stable base. Place the rectangle shape atop some plexiglass or other smooth surface, adjust its size as needed, then seal it at the bottom with clay or another suitable sealant. Insert your master piece into the middle, pour silicone around it, and easily remove it once the silicone hardens for re-use. There are two versions available, each with its own unique features. The first version shown in the photo requires clamps to hold it in place and can be printed without supports. To create this mold, simply print 4 of these molds and attach them as described above. The second version is designed to be more sturdy and easier to adjust for the desired size. Although it still needs clamping, you can use a CAD file or Thingiverse's customizer to set your own tolerance for the sliding rail gap. This allows you to tailor the mold to your specific printing needs, even if you have a very accurate printer like mine that requires minimal adjustments.
