I created this mold and cast fossil for the Maker Ed Project challenge, specifically designed for a science class to learn about mold and cast fossils. This project is a remix because I utilized the 'Robber Rex' model from Thingiverse. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 10% How I Designed This Step 1: I created two identical blocks, then downloaded the Robber Rex model from Thingiverse. Step 2: Next, I placed one block correctly and flipped the other to create a mold, making sure to add holes for the fossil's impression.
