Mojave Scissor Lift
thingiverse
Why choose a scissor lift? It's a great idea, and building one is an exciting project! My main reason for opting for this design is to incorporate cameras into my Great Mojave Rover Project. I need the cameras positioned above the rover to capture images of the surroundings. However, I require the cameras to be lowered during driving. Initially, I attempted to use a robotic arm but it was too heavy and damaged the servos. While out one day, I spotted something that caught my eye - a scissor lift. That night, I started designing a lift that would utilize a screw drive, a 5/16" x 4" bolt, to raise and lower the cameras. Seeing the cameras lift up to a couple of feet with just 4" of travel was truly impressive.
