Dehumidifiers (moisture absorbers) can effectively reduce humidity; however, salt may wear out rapidly in high-humidity conditions, necessitating frequent refills. A superhydrophobic coating on a replaceable cartridge could solve this issue, eliminating the need for regular salt replacements. The featured container is repurposed from a Hofer/Aldi dehumidifier; however, these cartridges can be designed to fit various moisture absorbers available in the market.
