The paste extruder works, but it's not suitable for thick materials like clay because the gears break as they are not running in sync. I'm currently testing it on my delta printer, which is geared down 8:13:8:13 and mounted onto the effector with three screws via a hole pattern on a 40mm circle. You might want to tweak the rotor a bit because the model is compensating for the error of my 3D-printer's 0.4 nozzle. Later, I'll upload a series of rotor diameters. You also need to design an adapter to fit it to your printer. Changes: * More reduction equals more power. * Smaller gears are better. * The material inlet is moved to the stator. Tools: * Acetone / ABS mixture * Acetone for smoothing (optional) * Small brush * Drill bits: 3/4/5/8/10 mm * Knife * Fasteners: + 4x M4x30mm + 6x M3x10mm or 16mm + 2x M3x8mm + M4 Washer 9mm outer diameter x 0.75mm + M4 Washer 20mm outer diameter x 1.25mm + 8x M3 Nut + 4x M4 Nut (1 Nyloc) Print Settings: * Printer Brand: RepRap * Printer: Mendel90 * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.25mm * Infill: 40% * Notes: Use ABS for all parts. Some parts are glued together with ABS + Acetone. For most parts, PLA is too brittle. Also, you might want to smooth some parts like the rotor & stator. Post-Printing: Cut things away * Cut away all brims. * The bottom layers of the print probably sagged due to the heated bed. Correct this. * This is extra important for the gears. * Oldhamhousing.stl has three small supports, which also need to be cutted away. * 3003moineau_stator.stl has a few unsupported holes which need to be cleaned so M3 Nuts will fit in. Redrill holes * gearboxeffectormount.stl and effectorgearboxbushing.stl: All 4mm. * 3003stator-moineau.stl, oldhamhousing.stl (top holes): All 3mm, all the way through if you have M3x16 instead of M3x10 * 3003stator-moineau.stl (material input): 10mm. Be careful and slow, you don't want to hit the inside of the stator. * oldhamhousing.stl (bottom holes): 4mm. * oldhamrotor.stl and 3003rotor.stl: Choose close to your filament diameter, mine is 3mm. Don't drill through! * steppergear.stl: 5mm for stepper shaft. 3mm for M3x8mm setscrews. * oldhamgear.stl: 8mm. Try cutting the bottom layers first, probably not necessary. Glue things * Use the ABS / acetone mixture for gluing. * Prefit tulein.stl with 3003stator-moineau.stl. If the fit is bad after drilling, you might want to sand it down, just put the tulein.stl in your drill and sand it. * Cut a small piece of filament, insert it into 3003rotor.stl and fit oldhamrotor.stl on top of it. Make sure the piece of filament is not too long. The piece of filament ensures we are centered. Optional: Glue the effectorgearboxbushing.stl to gearboxeffectormount.stl. Glue the things and leave them for a minute. Assemble * Assemble the thing and put some grease on the gears / surfaces with friction. Done.
