Moen replacement shower/bath knob
thingiverse
So I recently discovered that the knob on my upstairs bathroom had the wrong part installed and was stripped out completely, prompting me to take immediate action. Using my digital calipers, I meticulously measured every aspect of the faulty part before adding my personal touch to the design. Next, I decided to 3D print a new replacement, but unfortunately, I accidentally snapped off the internal shaft when removing the support material, requiring me to think on my feet. I solved this problem by heating up a nail and expertly welding it back into place. I used glow-in-the-dark PLA for the print, knowing that it's not as durable as regular PLA, but hoping for the best. Thankfully, everything is now installed and functioning perfectly. As an added note, the new knob takes a #10-24x1-1/4 screw and is compatible with my specific bathroom setup - just be aware that it won't work for sink faucets without some minor adjustments. Although I'm not entirely happy with how it turned out visually, I'd say it's still a decent result considering the situation.
