This replacement plastic insert fits into the Moen 1417BN perfectly, and mine happened to break after a mishap involving a dropped hand shower head. To replace the whole elbow assembly costs $65 - a shocking price that I'm glad not to pay.\n\nFirst things first, I needed to remove the old broken plastic piece, which proved to be quite the challenge as it had to be drilled out carefully until gone completely.\nYou'll need 2 other parts for this repair job, namely a tiny plastic retaining clip and a small rubber O-ring (5/8" OD x 7/16" ID x 3/32) that goes over #9 screw size.\nThere are two metal parts as well: one has male threads while the other has female. The former gets stuck in the faucet, while the latter will go through it with no problems. Next you'll need to get rid of those old parts so they don't mess things up anymore! To start things off right remove them completely until they're nothing more than memories.\n\nYou are almost ready to print now: all that remains is installing your brand-new replacement plastic piece. Slide this over onto the end of where it fits in and add on some kind tightening - tighten firmly! With everything fitted into place securely so far now it's time put another important bit together namely our special O ring - its pretty small too!
