Modular Y Carriage V3

thingiverse

This is the third iteration of the Modular Y Carriage. Please provide your thoughts on whether it will work or not, I need your feedback to move forward. Key changes in this version: The bearing no longer sits at a corner, instead taking up a central position. Three beam mount profiles are integrated into the corner for added stability. A Bearing Adapter has been designed to accommodate LM8UU mounts. Light and Solid versions are now available. Bearing Adapters remain compatible with the previous V2 model. Theoretically, this design allows for more travel on the Y axis due to the bearing's central placement. Linear rail offsets have also been adjusted to suit various linear rail setups. One of the key objectives - achieving a low profile while maintaining high travel rates - has been addressed. You can use this feature to adjust your LM8UU mount height, as shown in this Thingiverse tutorial: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1288284 To print this version, you'll need: At least 2 x Bearing Adapters 3 x LM8UU mounts For a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM), refer to the following document: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1319196 Custom Section Additional Notes If your linear rail setup doesn't fit with this modular carriage, please leave a comment or send me an inbox message with pictures from left and right side rails, measured on the outside of the rails. This information is crucial for making adjustments to ensure my modular carriage is as universal as possible. Updates 9th September 2016 -It has been discovered that Bearing Adapter.stl was not included in this set
