Modular Wire Spool Holder
thingiverse
This is a modular wire spool holder designed for easy assembly, utilizing only one screw per rod holder. I envisioned a setup where each spool can be held individually, allowing users to accommodate anywhere from 1 to 50 rolls. The system consists of a front section, rear section, and side parts that secure the roll in place. The front section features teardrop-shaped holes for wire passage, which pinch the wire to hold it firmly in position. This design is tailored specifically for 55mm x 20mm spools with a 25mm hole at their center. I've successfully used this holder with wires ranging from 18awg to 28awg. Assembly requires only three 6mm or 8mm screws, which are used extensively throughout the process. Begin by printing all parts and then connecting the front bases together like puzzle pieces. Next, attach the side pieces, followed by inserting the taller front stands into the groove with a screw hole in the front (optional). Screw holes can also be placed at the back. Subsequently, assemble the rear bases in the same manner as the fronts, but note that the shorter rear stands are inserted from the front side. The most challenging step involves connecting the front section to the rear section, requiring some filing to align the tabs on the rear base with those on the front base. Finally, add the spools and rod holders by starting with the rear spool. When feeding wire through the hole in the front of the rear base and then the teardrop-shaped holes in the front base will be easier.
