Modular wheelchair cupholder
thingiverse
This is a customizable cupholder for people who use wheelchairs. It consists of two parts: a cup and a grip that needs to be glued together. The good news is that you can attach the cup and the grip using a wide variety of glues - I've had success with epoxy mixed with acetone, but there are plenty of other options too. I created 12 different types of cups and several designs for the grip, each suited to a specific armrest width. The grip sizes range from 50mm to 80mm in increments of 5mm. Each size has three distinct designs, so you can choose one that suits your needs best. For an even greater degree of customizability, you can use this modular fastening method and print the cup on its own - you're free to glue anything you like onto it. If you decide to give my design a try, I'd be thrilled if you could share a photo with me. And don't worry if the results aren't perfect - I'm still learning how to use Openscad and any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to experiment with the designs as much as you like, but be sure to follow safety guidelines at all times. Now, about why I made this...
