Modular Watch Winder with 120V Motor

Modular Watch Winder with 120V Motor

thingiverse

This is a modified version of this Watch Winder but uses a 120V AC motor instead of the original 240V motor with a drive shaft not found in the 120V version. The modification moves the motor mount back to accommodate the longer drive shaft, and also modifies the drive gear to accept the coupler. Order the model with the brass coupler on Amazon, as the drive gear is designed specifically for that. The modified Watch Winder can now accept heavier watches without the need for extended legs due to the 12.5mm movement of the motor mount back. Only the mount and gear are modified from the original design, allowing you to use the same extension pieces to add additional winders just like before. To ensure optimal performance, print the watch clip with 100% infill as it will be subjected to bending and flexing while holding a watch in place. I have also uploaded a brace that can be used to connect two mounts together without relying on magnets near mechanical watches. By drilling holes in the bottom tabs of the mounts and using 4mm screws, you can create a sturdy connection between the sections. This allows for easy transportation of the motor and extension together. A new brace is currently being developed to connect the motor mount to the extension mount. The watch clip mounted on the back of the extension winder works effectively, clearing the motor mount without issue. However, users with thick metal bracelets may encounter some clearance problems with a NATO strap-equipped watch like mine.
