Modular Wall Tile System

Disclaimer: Tiles may detach over time, particularly when attached to a shelf carrying weight or if the wall is struck from behind. This modular tile system is designed to attach directly onto existing walls, drawing inspiration from Portal and Portal 2 panels. Print as many "wall tile back v2.stl" files as needed to cover your wall. These tiles are secured to the wall using 4mm screws. The other wall tile files feature interchangeable components that can be swapped out. Each component is designed for printing with its back facing down, requiring four claw pieces per tile and a simple snap-in installation into the slots on the back. Although pushing them in may be challenging, the grippier claw piece features sharper "fingers," making it more difficult to remove from the wall tile back. It's recommended to use the grippier claw pieces for heavier tiles or when placing heavy objects on shelves. An allen wrench works best for removing stuck tiles that are inaccessible with fingers alone. Additionally, the wall tile back piece is slightly larger than its front counterpart, allowing screws to be driven in adjacent to each other while still providing clearance for an allen wrench behind the front piece. Feel free to create custom tiles using the included blank template. To resize existing tiles, it's recommended not to scale them uniformly; instead, adjust the dimensions by dragging only the corners of the tile inward or outward. Scaling modifications may cause issues with the claw pieces' ability to snap into place normally.
