There are countless individuals worldwide who struggle with diseases that render their hands virtually useless, such as arthritis. These conditions make it impossible for many people to open or close their hands, severely limiting their functionality. To aid those suffering from hand mobility issues, the modular utensil set is designed to assist with everyday activities like eating. For those with limited hand function, picking up utensils on their own can be a daunting task. This device empowers individuals with mobility impairments in their hands to pick up utensils independently. The set consists of a hollowed-out box featuring notches on the sides for inserting blocks attached to the utensils. The red torus visible in images indicates where a piece of velcro should be placed to secure the attachment to the user's hand. Note that the STL file does not include the red torus, instead featuring holes for velcro placement. This device significantly eases the process of using utensils for those with limited hand mobility, making food consumption less stressful and more manageable. While utensils are just one application for this device, its modular design allows users to create attachments for various other items like phones, credit cards, and more. Unfortunately, I currently lack a functioning 3D printer, so if anyone is willing to download the STL file, test it, and post photos of the printed product in action, their assistance would be greatly appreciated! When creating modular block attachments, it's crucial to use only PLA filament, as it's considered safe for food contact. ABS filament should never be used for printing utensils due to its potential hazards.
