The modular train, an electric-powered vehicle consisting of a locomotive and railroad cars with interchangeable modules, offers versatility in driving on rails of various gauges for both trams and trains. As the last section approaches a different type of rail, passengers or cargo must transfer to another modular train made up of different bogies and top sections. Though two complete trains are usually required, their components are identical, making them cost-effective. In some cases, the entire top section can be moved onto a wider rail bogie using a crane. Despite its cost efficiency, the modular train is lightweight and features three main components: the top section, middle section, and suspension of the bogies. The bogies enable wheels to spin at different speeds for better handling in bends, achieved through a single differential and chains. Doors at the back of locomotives and railroad cars are motorized for ease of access. Both people and cargo can be transported using this flexible rail vehicle, which connects rails of various gauges and types for improved transportation. The electric version is equipped with a pantograph and rectifier, while the IC-version features a hybrid-electric motor (IC engine 2). Motors powering the bogies are housed within them, enhancing traction and hill-climbing capabilities. Electromagnetic brakes on locomotive and railroad car bogies provide safer stopping than hydraulic or pneumatic disc brakes.
