Modular tool bracket for IKEA LACK table
thingiverse
This is a versatile holding bracket that can be easily attached to an IKEA LACK table by clipping it onto place or screwing it in if necessary. So far, I have not experienced any issues with it coming loose from its clipped position, but the counter-sunk screw hole provides added security just in case. The bracket part of this design features 12 square holes that can be used to arrange the accompanying modules in a wide variety of configurations. Each module has two sets of flexible, square-fitting feet and one square hole on top, allowing them to be stacked up to two deep for extended tool-holding capabilities. I am including a SketchUp file so anyone who wants to create their own custom tool-specific modules can do so with ease. The square holes on the bracket portion are positioned close enough to the edge that modules can be used to connect adjacent brackets, enabling users to build even more complex tool-holding systems. As for future development, I plan to design and add more tool-specific modules once I have a better idea of what they could look like. Update: I cleaned up the SketchUp file and added labels to make it easier to understand what each part is and how it fits together. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30 Notes: My prints come out fine with rafts and supports, but they may also work without rafts. When printing the module portion with feet facing upwards and no supports, the results were not satisfactory. I now print them on their sides (as shown in the STL file) with supports for the feet, which produces a successful print. Post-Printing Fine-tuning: I typically use a flat rasp to remove support material from the sides where the feet had supports. However, be careful not to over-file this part, as it can affect the modules' ability to fit securely in place.
