Modular Storage - Bigger Mini Drawers Ultimate - Reduced Printing Time
thingiverse
The bigger drawers were exactly what I was searching for, but the housings' printing time was way too long compared to the drawers. I remixed the housing for the drawers to require less printing time by reducing unnecessary joints and removing holes for circles. I cut down on the joints as they provided a lot of complex movement which increased the printing time. The new joints are now only 10mm long at each end. For comparison, these are the printing times between the original and the ones with reduced printing time. I used the same settings for all tests: ### Housing 1x1 Original: 3h 28m Reduced: 2h 17m *34% reduction in printing time* ### Housing 1x2 Original: 4h 21m Reduced: 2h 34m *41% reduction in printing time* ### Housing 2x1 Original: 5h 01m Reduced: 2h 29m *51% reduction in printing time* ### Housing 2x2 Original: 5h 56m Reduced: 3h 36m *39% reduction in printing time* They work just as expected with all drawer sizes and will interlock with the original models if you have any printed already. This is my first project, a work in progress, so I'd appreciate any feedback.
