Modular stackable trays
thingiverse
I made this out of pure hate of the flimsy little boxes small bolts and similar components come in. This design is 100% 3D printed. The trays are based on a footprint of 100x100x20mm. They interlock with each other by inserting one into the bottom another and twisting one 90° there's a pocket on the trays for an optional lock that stops rotation until it's pressed down. (The lock is still kind of iffy, I'll update this when I'm happy with the lock design) Included are models for trays with 2,4,6,8,10,12,14 and 16 compartments. It is pretty sturdy I currently have a stack of 7 (six of them full of bolts, nuts and brass standoffs, total weight is ~1,4kg) and It has no problem being held out horizontally by the bottom tray. supports: Just the underside of the two little tabs at the top (not strictly needed but saves on finishing) Updates: 06.08: Lid added
