# Modular Spring Thank you for being interested in this object, please read the description to gain an understanding of what this is. ## What am I looking at? This thing is essentially a torsion spring. The two halves pivot around a central shaft in different directions before reaching the limits of the internal spring. Different tools can be locked into position either side to make this spring a useful device. This part relies on **YOU** to think of uses and projects that may require some form of spring. Whatever you design, it can be attached to the hexagons either side of the device and bolted into place with the bolts either side. - Mounting hexes are 17.5 between flat edges and 5mm deep. Possible applications: pliers, catapult...? ## What next? If you have an idea about how this spring could be used, please let me know and I may design the parts. If you would like to design attachments for this spring, feel free to download and print the spring. I think this design could be very useful in many different applications but I'll leave it to you to decide what you would use it for. Stay tuned for upgrades and features, including different sized units and variations on spring tension and strength. ### If you found this useful / interesting / inspiring Please consider: - Liking the thingy - Sharing with others - Printing and sharing your designs - Donating via Thingiverse - Looking at the other things I have designed | Updates | | |--|--| | Date | Action | |06/04/2021 |Shortened the length of bolt for compatibility with threads|
