Modular Snap-Fit Airship
thingiverse
Introducing a versatile, snap-fit model of an Airship that requires no glue. It serves as the base for various creative mashups including a Trireme and Saturn V rocket. Designed for 3D printing, it comes in solid and shell versions. Tested on a Replicator 2 without supports or rafts, optimal print settings include layer thickness of .15mm, one to two shells, feed speed of 80mm/s, travel speed of 150mm/s, and fill rate of 0 for shells and .1 for solids. The shell version conserves material, while the solid version may print faster due to reduced shell and perimeter printing time. Snap-fit assembly is self-explanatory with H-clips connecting main halves, and propellers easily pushing into place. Print two models for a four-engine Mega-Airship or combine with Trireme and Saturn V upgrades. More upgrades like Riverboat and Warp Nacelle are coming soon. Currently licensed as no-derivatives, but will be opened up after additional parts are completed.
