Modular Snap Blocks
thingiverse
This set of plastic snap-together blocks was developed for a prototype universal constructor. Watch a robot created from these blocks in action on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LumLzSQE5Vw. For more information about the actual physical plastic blocks, visit http://www.molecularassembler.com/KSRM/3.18.htm. Initially, the parts were crafted using polyurethane casting, but the files available here have been modified for 3D printing. However, they haven't been tested for successful printing. To create a part, print both a top and base, then glue them together. Combine various tops and bases to make diverse parts, such as structural pieces, gears, racks, etc. SnapBlocks.zip includes 16 stl files in millimeters, while SnapBlocksAlibreSource.zip offers the source models in Alibre part format.
With this file you will be able to print Modular Snap Blocks with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Modular Snap Blocks.
