A compact tool station design utilizes four lengths of 2020 extrusion, repurposed from an unwanted Kossel project, allowing for seven or eight rows of tools on a 300mm frame, though only five are currently in place. The front bottom brace and rear top brace feature driver bit sockets for added functionality. A row of 10mm - 3mm countersunk neodymium magnets along the front holds small magnetic pads, while tool slats measuring 30mmx190mmx20mm accommodate various tools: one set for Allen drivers, two others for aluminum-handled hobby drivers, a scissors/wrench/caliper combination, and a deburring tool, as well as a spatula. Hook mounts are also available for Thwack! holders (www.thingiverse.com/thing:1726316) and side cutters, leaving room for additional modules on the outside. By December 2019, three modules designed by Plug_it_in had been integrated into the project, along with a "Helping Hands" module created in-house. This module employs five flexible air fittings that can be secured using hot-glue alligator clips to facilitate soldering tasks, and features a 25mm central hole for a soldering iron rest. However, optimal construction of this piece remains unresolved, prompting the owner to consider plundering local hardware stores for suitable plumbing components. Plans also include adding a solder spool mount to the project.
