Modular Rugged SD Card Holder with options
cults3d
I designed this SD Card holder with outdoorsmen in mind. It's rugged, water resistant, easy to use with light gloves on, and designed with a very strong mounting system. I also included a battery holder (8x AA cells) and a open container (56mm ID x 52mm deep) if you want to mix up your design. I would be happy to design one to fit other applications. It would need to be able to fit inside of a 56mm tube. There is space in the cap for a 1/8" thick (3mm) foam gasket. Use a 65mm OD for a snug fit. I cut mine on a Ortur Laser Master 2. There is also a groove for a O-ring on the outside of the body. Use a o-ring with a 65.5mm OD x 59.5 ID x 3mm cross section and a durometer of 70A or less. McMaster-Carr #9262K312. A dash number 142 o-ring might also work. The SD card slots are designed to have a very slight friction fit. You may need to adjust them with a piece of folded sandpaper. Ideally they can be easily removed/installed with minimal force, but will stay in place if inverted. The sections should be test fit and glued before stringing with paracord. I used 3M automotive trim adhesive (contact cement) and it seems to be holding up well. Something like PLAGloop might also work well.
