Modular Ring Fan Duct for Anet Titan Aero Mount W/ BLTouch
thingiverse
I modified a duct originally created by Gregory Holloway for his Prusa Titan Aero X Carriage, which can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2192480. He had designed a neat bolt-on duct that I liked, but it didn't quite fit my Anet copy of the X-Carriage, available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3341324. After using the modified duct for a while, I noticed its directional design caused uneven part cooling. To address this issue, I quickly created and implemented a modular duct system that attaches to a custom fan mount. I plan to create several more iterations of the ring, as my first attempt was relatively successful. I've included STEP files so others can make their own modifications or end caps for the duct, giving them flexibility in changing it according to their specific printing needs. Please note that this mod is situated close to the hot end, so I recommend having a silicone sock on the hot end and using PETG or a higher-temperature material when printing. A quick Bill of Materials (BOM) shows you'll need 2 screws with 14mm or so threads and 3mm diameter; if your screws are too long, don't force them into place or you risk damaging the X-Carriage. Instead, shim the head side to ensure they only thread into the nut a few millimeters.
