Modular RaspberryPi Rack System

Modular RaspberryPi Rack System

thingiverse

This is a versatile modular rack system designed specifically for multiple headless Raspberry Pis with the POEHat. There are three essential components that work together seamlessly. 1. The Sled serves as a housing unit for the Pi, featuring a design tailored to accommodate the 3B+. To ensure optimal results, mount the Pi into the sled using two M2.5x5 screws placed in opposite corners of the Pi. Before installing the POEHat, attach standoffs to the other two corners of the POEHat. The Sled requires supports enabled for the cut-out window, allowing you to connect power and HDMI cables for troubleshooting, upgrades, or any other purposes. 1. The Drawer securely holds the Sled in place using clips, with tabs on the bottom connecting into slots in the top, enabling stacking as high as desired. Enabling supports for the Drawer is crucial, and I strongly recommend adding a raft to ensure stability. Depending on your slicer settings, you may find it beneficial to rotate the Drawer within the build-space to create more consistent support structures. In my experience, rotating 90 degrees has yielded better results than building as-is. You might need to perform some post-processing to achieve a perfect fit of the tabs in the slots, which can vary depending on your slicer settings. 1. The Tie Set allows you to connect Drawers side-by-side without requiring additional support. For a clearer understanding, refer to the accompanying picture. I invite comments, suggestions for improvement, and any other ideas that might enhance my designs and skills as I continue to learn and grow in this exciting field.
