Modular Raid Disk enclosure for single boards
thingiverse
These enclosures enable stacking and attaching multiple disks to an Odroid C2, C4 or RaspberryPi B+ board. A left base fits the Lid&Base from each of these boards. The Lid&Base is not included here but can be found in my other designs. To set up a raid with multiple disks, start by selecting either the right or left base depending on how many disks you plan to use. Here's an example configuration: 1 x 2.5" Disk - Left Base + Lid&Base 2 x 2.5" Disk - Right Base + Left Mid Section + Lid&Base 3 x 2.5" Disk - Left Base + Right Mid Section + Left Mid Section + Lid&Base 4 x 2.5" Disk - Right Base + Left Mid Section + Right Mid Section + Left Mid Section + Lid&Base The enclosures may be more suitable for SSD drives due to heat concerns. I have tested them under light loads, but further research is needed. A vented left base has been included to help with overheating issues. Additionally, a 50x50 or 60x60 fan should be installed to circulate air through the stack. Power can be supplied from the GPIO. These enclosures use 3mm x 25mm cap screws for assembly and 3mm x 8mm countersunk hex screws to secure the drives in place. The left base has extra depth for higher capacity drives, making it ideal for larger storage needs. A SATA controller is recommended, but any R/A controller should fit as well.
