A big thank you goes out to ICRC for providing me with this fantastic opportunity. To create a simple prosthetic arm, I utilized PLA replicator and FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) manufacturing process. This method offers high strength, durability, stability, and is cost-effective and waterproof. ABS material can be used to enhance impact resistance and toughness, while multiple color options are available. The FDM process also yields a good surface finish, which reduces weight and makes it easier to handle. It can contract or expand, hold various shapes, and requires minimal fixed support. Additionally, materials can be held effectively at different angles, and the manufacturing time is significantly less than other methods.
