Modular Popsicle Stick Picavet Mount Concept
thingiverse
The goal is to craft a lightweight, modular picavet mount for aerial kite photography. In my case, I've got a Foxeer Legend 1 action camera, but the actual camera mount is a separate print and can be swapped out for a mount that works for other cameras. The aim is simplicity and weight reduction. Most connections rely on zip ties, while a 1/4" bolt connects the camera plate to the picavet mount. Three components are involved: picavet mount plate - attaches to the camera mount plate and features notches to guide zip ties picavet plate - sandwiches popsicle/craft sticks to the picavet mount plate, with holes for guiding zip ties foxeer mount - the camera mount plate, including zip tie holes Post-Printing Strengthen bolt hole area Delamination can cause the bolt hole area to break, so post-processing ABS with acetone is a good idea. I haven't tried it yet. Popsicle stick configuration I glued popsicle sticks together using wood glue. Assemble Maybe add some micro-cell-foam or tub tread to the camera plate to prevent the camera from sliding out. TBD
