Modular Parts Storage

Modular Parts Storage

thingiverse

Modular storage for small to medium parts is made possible by a design that maximizes versatility while minimizing plastic usage. The system can be screwed directly into the wall or backplane of some sort, ensuring stability and security. A truss construction frame provides added support and durability. To assemble, simply print out a frame and lid, then carefully slide the frame into the corresponding slots on the lid. If it's challenging to get the frame in place, you can easily touch up the tabs with a file. Build upon this foundation by continuing to add frames to the bottom until your desired column height is achieved. For added columns, assemble another frame and lid combination and connect them side-by-side using connectors. Two connectors are used per frame for maximum stability. Notches in the slots allow you to insert the connector and then slide it securely into place. To avoid any issues with assembly, install frames first, followed by connectors. Drawers can be secured directly to the wall as you go along. Simply print out your desired drawers and inserts, then install them into the frames. Inserts hang from notches in the drawers, providing a secure and effortless way to access your stored items. Drawers are designed with built-in stops that prevent them from falling out when opened. To insert or remove an item, simply tilt the drawer up.
