Modular Nerf Rack
prusaprinters
This is a modular rack system for hanging and displaying nerf guns. Each rack segment has 9 slots for hanging hooks. There are 8 holes, which can be used to screw it into a wall, or hang it from pegboard hooks. Not all the holes need screws, they are just there to provide a bit of flexibility in case a hole doesn't work for a specific application. The rack segments can also be supported by 2 large command strips. The racks in the images are all held up with command strips, with one placed on the third position in from each edge. The rack and hook system is designed to be compatible with the nerf elite blaster rack, which did not stand up to the number of nerf guns we had in it. If you have that rack, my hooks will slot onto it, and if you have the hooks from that rack, they will fit into my rack segments. There are also 3 different lengths of hook included, 2.75", 1.6", and 0.8". The 1.6" fit most guns well, the 0.8" match the ones from the official nerf rack, and the 2.75" are good for holding a few magazines, some of the larger guns, or things like the dart belts. The last plate is a dart ammo box that holds 72 darts (12 across the length, stacked 6 high).I am open to suggestions so if there is another attachment you'd like to see, let me know and I will probably model and upload it.For print profiles, I have uploaded 2 different slices. One is a default 2 perimeter slice and the other is a 1 perimeter slice. I needed 30 racks so I test printed one with a single perimeter and it held up well. These single perimeter ones will show infill through the perimeter on lighter colors, but they do use 30% less filament if that is a concern. My whole rack took a spool and a half, which is much cheaper than the pegboard options of similar size would have cost me. If you'd prefer an opaque finish or need additional strength for heavier guns, the 2 wall option might be better for you. The print orientation allows most of the parts to print without support, but I have painted support on the bottom surfaces to ensure the parts stay on the bed and don't fall over. Reorienting the part may cause difficult to clean supports, so be mindful if you alter the profile. If you plan on printing many of these, its better to copy and paste the racks or hooks you need and print many in one go. The copy paste will pull the painted support info.
