Modular Molding Tiles
thingiverse
Have you ever felt confined by the molds at your disposal? Like your creativity was restricted to whatever mold was available? Or maybe you came across impressive mold designs that left you wishing your printbed could handle their grandeur? No more. With these parametric tiles, you can shape anything you desire without being hindered by your printer or mold's limitations. They snap together effortlessly, allowing for intricate and adaptable structures with ease. Since each tile measures under 140 mm in every direction, they can fit on almost any print bed. The curse of 3D printing has been lifted. They require no supports, and post-processing is as simple as a pair of scissors! Print a set, and shape your castle today! Each tile molds either 100 or 84 millimeter flat surfaces, depending on whether the face is molded. Every non-clip external face measures 100x100 mm, making squares predominant. The clips also use triangles and circles, adding those geometric patterns to the mix. An example of a mold can be seen in the gallery. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a printer, so I couldn't create an actual model, but Onshape has a feature that allowed me to design the shown mold. All four parts have been pre-oriented. The two different edge type tiles are essential. Without both, you won't be able to close off some faces completely.
