Modular Model Rocket
thingiverse
Introducing a modular rocket system available as of June 17. Select your nosecone, body tube(s), fincan, and nosecone coupler for a semi-custom printable rocket. Regular updates are planned; kindly leave feedback if you have specific requests. Key dimensions to ensure compatibility: Tube Outside Diameter - 1.75in, Tube Inside Diameter - 1.667in, Coupler Tube Outside Diameter (tight): 1.663in, and Coupler Tube Outside diameter (looser): 1.659in. Note that designs are based on the Legacy model but might still be untested. A minimum build area of 4x4x4 is required for individual printing. Parts have .35mm layers and 1.5 width over thickness, with tubes being exactly two extruded filaments wide. Walls are thin, so specific printing settings may produce hollow walls. Follow these steps to assemble your rocket: Step 1 - Select components (nosecone, body tube, fincan, nosecone coupler); Step 2 - Print parts; Step 3 - Screw and glue the nosecone to the coupler; Step 4 - Tie the nosecone coupler to the fin can through the body tube with a 3ft non-flammable cord (parachute or streamer recommended); Step 5 - Insert motor, add a drywall screw for retention; Step 6 - Fly safely and enjoy!
