Modular Mars Base Toy - 3D Printable
thingiverse
Hello, I'm Todd, a freshman in high school maker! I was inspired to create this modular toy from playing with Legos and other modular toys while growing up. Personally I believe that the toys you play with as a child will shape a child's personality in the future. For me, my parents always gave me creative thinking toys, and toys that allowed me to design and build my own world. This toy will do just as I explained above! The modular mars base consists of a 8x6 array of .08 diameter pegs spaced 1" apart from the center of each peg, which is extruded to a height of .12". This allows ANYONE with basic 3D design skills to add onto the design, as well as create their own custom pieces for the toy. Just for fun, I added a few "Easter Eggs" into the design as well (Feel free to share them in the comments) Also, I will release the Autodesk Inventor IPT's and IAM's after the contest is over. Please have fun and enjoy this project!!! Please share by using the Make button! Thank you and happy printing and making! Instructions Print the base and scale to the appropriate size to your printer. Please Note If you scale the base, you must scale ALL modular parts to the same scale as well.
