Modular Marble Machine for 8mm Ball Bearings
cults3d
This is a modular marble machine I built a little bit ago that is meant to be easily printable on even a small printer (4in by 4in). As such it is standardized so that a 1U block will be 12mm by 12 mm by 12mm. It is easy to create your own parts and make endless tracks. This can also easily be scaled up for larger marbles as you see fit. Holes: The holes are .125" in diameter and are .1" deep. The pegs that go into the holes are roughly .125" and .9" deep. Their is a hole in the centre of every 1U Tracks: The tracks are made so that a 8mm ball bearing rolls down the centre. So for a standard 1 unit track the part the marble moves on is roughly speaking 8.1mm to allow for the marbles to have some wiggle room. The way they are made is that the bottom of the marble track, so where the bottom of the marble is, is .125" from the ground. So, if a marble track was 2u high, the starting point for the upper portion of the track would be 12mm+.125" to the bottom of where the marble would sit. Or bottom most point of the 8.1mm marble guide. Pieces made: A loop de loop Flip flop (This has 3 pieces) Hammer (Two pieces, the central pivot is .15" in diameter) 1U straightaway a 1U/5U slop A 1U curve Marble elevator for pump Pump(Warning experimental, this pump has 4 parts. Needs 2 axels(Diameter 1/16" and 2 rubber bands) 1U block, no track a 2U block to feed marbles into pump A piece that takes marbles from the elevator and puts them on the track A corkscrew A slide A 1U drop A sloping winding path A bowl I hope you enjoy and please give me feed back if you make this or make more parts for it, I am highly curious as to the results.
