DescriptionAre you in the need of the new belt? Do you want your new belt to be a completely different feel than anything you have had before? If you answered yes to either of those questions, this 3D printed modular belt is the thing for you. The fact that this belt is modular allows you to print the exact number of links you require in order to make the belt the perfect size for you. An added benefit to the belt being modular is that it can grow with you, just print another piece and it is longer. This belt is relatively durable and should last awhile, but it will not twist, as well as, a regular belt. It may snap if it is twisted in odd ways. Despite this, any piece, that snaps can be easily replaced. Print Instructions Material: PLA or PETG (for extra strength) Supports: No Orientation: Lay everything on its back to get a consistent surface finish Parts Buckle Front (included) Buckle Back (included) Link (included) Snap Link (included) 5 Link Chain (included) 5 Snap Link Chain (included) Standard non-printed filament to be used to connect pieces (TPU or PETG is probably best for this because they can flex) (not included) 8 magnets with a diameter 18 mm of and a thickness of 4 mm (optional) (not included) Configuration Note: This equation is not exact, but it will give you a rough estimate. In order to configure the pieces required for your customizable modular belt, first measure the diameter of your waist and subtract 65 mm (the length of the buckle) from it Divide that by 25 mm (the length of a link) to get the total number of links you will need to print Then round that number up, and now you know how many copies of each piece you need to print After you know the amount of links you require, you get to decide if you want to print them individually or in chains of five links printed together Then decide if you would like to use magnets to secure your belt or use the built-in snapping system If you decide to use the snapping system, you may want to include snap links at the end of your belt to allow it to take multiple sizes Assembly Print all the required pieces If you are using magnets glue the magnets into the buckle making sure that the polarities of the magnets align, so the buckles will snap together Push a filament scrap into the hinge hole until it is flush with the bottom surface Use flush cutters to cut the filament scrap to be flush with the top surface Repeat the attachment process for all hinge holes Filament scraps that are not secure enough can be glued or melted with a 3D pen for extra security If you enjoy this model, please leave a like and a comment.
