Modular Light Weight Quadcopter Frame
thingiverse
This is a lightweight drone that only supports a 20x20 stack. It can mount four 20x20 boards, making it perfect for a nice light HD quad with a run-cam split mini in it. Its design calls for a top-mount battery. The stand-off spacing is 30.5 millimeters, so any 30.5 printable quadcopter accessories should work with this quad. It weighs 73 grams with three-inch arms. I have created three sets of arms: * Three-inch arms will fit any two-and-a-half or three-inch props. * Four-inch arms will fit any three-and-a-half or four-inch prop. * Four-inch angled arms will also fit any three-and-a-half or four-inch prop. I prefer the angled arms because you shouldn't get the props in view. I have built an arm bar for the four-inch angled arms to add strength, but it is optional. If you're trying to shave weight, don't run them. I'll do a three-inch bar if anyone needs it. If you're more experienced, I would suggest flying with three-inch arms without the bar to shave off grams. It's designed to use 20mm stand-offs because that's the height of the camera mount. The camera mount will hold any camera that is nineteen millimeters wide. I'm still working out the best way to mount the camera mounts. If you have a three-millimeter tap set, you can add threads and use metal three-millimeter screws to mount it. If not, I think a two-and-a-half-millimeter screw can go through from top to bottom and hold it nicely. Let me know your thoughts and ideas to improve this frame as I really love this design. I will be doing a video on this frame soon on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf3N91uCav6kT_wBWUKVg5Q
