Modular printer head concept ====================== This is a modular printer head concept based on the Prusa i3 X-Carriage that can be found here : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2838383 I initially implemented a serie of improvement from [Anycubic Ultimate Upgrade](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2901190) but I was tired of unsxcrewing a lots of part when I had a nozzle clogged. So I decided to make it easier to remove by modifying the back plate to a more modular concept with a slider and only 1 screw. Then I realized I can do more with my printer. This is when I decided to build more modular adapter. X-Carriage and back plane ----------------------------------- These are the first part to print. for this you will have to print - X-Carriage.stl - Modular_Back_Plane.stl - Belt_holder.stl - End_Stop.stl For those part I recommend PETG and at least 30% infill as they will have to be sturdy enough to hold everything. To assemble these part you will need - 4 M2.5*20mm screws and nuts - 1 M2.5*8mm screw and nut - Belt (optional if your belt is long enough) - 2 Linear bearing (you can reuse your existing ones) 3D Printer head module -------------------------------- Obviously this module was the first one to be built. Here the parts you need. - Modular_Nema_17_Mount.stl - Modular_Titan_cover.stl - Rear_Fan_Support.stl - Rear_Fan_Bracket.stl - Rear_Fan_Mount.stl - Rear_Fan_Duct.stl Print those part with PETG or ABS as they will have to support a lot of heat. You will also need - 2 M2.5*16mm screws and nuts - 4 M2.5*6mm screws and nuts - 1 M4*20mm - 1 [50x5 12v Turbo Fan](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B071XSLTQY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - 1 [Noctua 40x10 Fan](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B009NQLT0M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - 2 M3*12mm - 1 [Titan Extruder + Nema 17 Slim Motor](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32757902679.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.724e4c4d3sG1dh) Select set 2 to get both the extruder and the step motor - [E3D V6 J-Head Hot end](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32804944554.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.724e4c4d3sG1dh) You may also need some cable connector if you plan to refresh the wiring of your hotend and fans. For the screws you can buy A [M2-M3-M4-M5 Kit](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07PHYJ8BB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and a [M2.5 KIT](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07DJ8VDF8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Pen plotter module ------------------------- This started as an experiment to see how a 3D printer can be used to print in 2D. The result is good and you can use this to print on small flat objects or gift cards. Parts to print: - Modular_Multi_Plate.stl (can be used for other project to fix things) - Modular_Pen_Plate.stl - Modular_Pen_Holder.stl To assemble this you will need: - 1 M3*12mm screw and nut - 1 Spring or rubber band to hold the pen plate and holder together by some small hook. - a pen of your choice Laser Engraver/Cutter Module ---------------------------------------- Part to print: - Modular_Laser_Mount.stl You will need: - 4 M4*6mm screws - 1 [Laser module](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07H98XHWN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
