Modular hairpin with rose
prusaprinters
My daughters love things in their hair. When scrolling around Printables, we found the lovely rose pen by Tom Anderson (The ReaL NEO) and I got the household assignment to make it suitable for hair use because the original only survived 1 hour.Therefor I've split the original into 2 parts:the stemthe roseWhy split it? First of all, printing in 1 piece was not optimal for strength purposes. Second, it's now modular :)How to printThe stemI've printed in PLA (Prusament recycled), but PETG is also a possibility.Print it lying down, so we have max flexibility and material strength.0.15 mm layer heightno supports needed by designI've used a brim of 2mm. Without I had some warping.30% gyroid infill to prevent warping.2 perimetersAvailable in 2 lengths: 10 and 16 cm.Make sure you align the correct side on the plate so you don't need a support. The roseI've printed in PLA (Prusament Oh my Gold), but PETG is also a possibility.0.15 mm layer heightno supports needed15% gyroid infill2 perimetersA large brim is required! I used 10mm with great success.AssemblyPrint both parts and put them together. Done! Just be aware, by design, the part that goes into the rose is a bit asymmetrical for printing purposes so that no supports are needed. If it doesn't fit nicely, try turning it 90°.ModularNow we have a hairpin that is modular for other extensions to add. I'm curious what you can come up with!SupportIf you like my effort, give this design a like and share makes!
