Modular Ender 3 Meanwell PSU Cover with USB Charger
thingiverse
I recently upgraded my Ender 3 by installing a Meanwell LRS-350 PSU and replacing faulty XT60 stock connectors with Anderson PowerPoles. Since the original cover was now too large, I needed a new one. To create the new cover, I took [syzkryb's design] from Thingiverse as my starting point and modified it to include a modular side panel that houses a 24V automotive USB adapter. This upgrade allows me to power 5V adhesive USB LED strips, which light up when the printer is turned on, creating a vibrant print corner. The cover also features an optional set of tabs that fit into the 2020 rail. Although these tabs don't lock into place automatically, combining them with the stock screw near the top of the PSU creates a secure hold and keeps the bottom of the cover away from the print area. I drew inspiration for the USB idea and the 2020 rail tabs from [peed6687's design]. The USB charger I used had screw ring terminal connectors on one end, so I replaced them with spade connectors to work seamlessly with my PSU.
