Modular drawer for electronic components - double width
thingiverse
I thought this design was perfect for a more modular approach, making it possible to also create different cells in double width, double height or even both. I will probably create the others, but first I still need to design a double width drawer. It will be included in this remix. I assemble the cells using a vice, since tolerances are quite tight (but that's also the case for the original design). Might pay to play with tolerances a bit. EDIT: Also uploaded three different drawers: Drawer1w1h.stl (1 unit wide and one unit high -standard drawer) Drawer2w1h.stl (2 units wide and one unit high - for the drawer case in this remix) Drawer1w2h.stl (1 unit wide and one unit high - for taller things in a drawer) I am still planning to do a parametric design for the case so that case and drawer can be generated in any desired width, depth and height. A preview can be seen in the Solidworks file I have attached (ParametricDrawer.SLDPRT). The parameters can be changed in the "Equations" Tab, here I have set up the parameters UnitsWide, UnitsHigh and UnitsDeep. Changing them to 2 doubles the respective dimension, try it out and feel free to optimise the designs. Thanks to the original creator for the creation of this design.
