Modular Cryptex
thingiverse
I designed a modular cryptex that can be printed one ring at a time with no support material such that you can glue together as many segments as you want. The cryptex in the photo is six letters long, but it could just as well be four or ten. The rings are designed with detents to click from one character to the next and stay in place while you adjust the next ring and enter the full code. Character rings snap in place over the lock rings, so once you have the puzzle solved, you can remove them and enter a new code. The 60-character version can be used to enter numbers, equations, etc.
With this file you will be able to print Modular Cryptex with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Modular Cryptex.
