The plan involves creating a collection of versatile modules that can be combined to form diverse CNC machines, potentially laser-cut rather than printable designs. In line with Open Structure guidelines, sliding modules measure 8cm x 8cm x 60cm and rotatable ones are 8cm x 8cm x 8cm. Both powered and non-powered modules will be included, with powered units connectable in parallel or series for increased power or distance respectively. This is a preliminary idea submitted for the Makerbot giveaway contest.
