Modular castle kit - Duplo compatible
thingiverse
Construct a colossal medieval castle using DUPLO-sized blocks, simply assemble them horizontally. The source code is similar to its predecessor, found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31284, which uses LEGO size for the STLs. By generating DUPLO size and proportions instead of LEGO, it caters to those who prefer not to use OpenScad. This "derivative" includes a subset in the parent's model, so read further details there. Printing these models demands careful attention to avoid common problems such as floors over DUPLO-base (nibbles underneath), irregular surfaces, random filament feeding issues and ugly horizontal overhangs. Print speed varies depending on printer capabilities, but first layers must be printed slowly for best results. The fit of DUPLO-compatible connectors is loose to accommodate for potential imperfections and thicker layers. For optimal quality, adjust the OpenScad file parameters in the "parent" model or use the associated OpenScad library at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2106. The Duplo models are lists of function calls derived from the parent model.
