Modular carriage for 40x20 rails (using 3 solid V wheels)
thingiverse
Modular carriage designed specifically for 40x20 rails, intended to replace the stock X Carriage on the Tevo Tarantula. However, this modular carriage can be adapted for use with other machines featuring 4020 rails and solid V wheels (24mm). Update: For original V-slot compatibility, please refer to the remix at Thingiverse http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2155251 and utilize mbot-xc-p1.stl instead of xc-p1.stl. The hotend mount is compatible with the mount found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1438795. The pack also includes a remixed reinforced version of the stock Tevo Tarantula mount. For E3D V6 hotend compatibility, visit http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2155251 (mount holes are identical; use mbot_e3d_m2.stl or mbot_e3d_m1v2.stl). This carriage is designed to utilize three wheels. The top wheel is secured by the top bolt, allowing for easy tension adjustment instead of eccentric nuts. Use nuts with nylon inserts to lock the wheels in place. Basic materials required: * 3 solid V wheels * 3 M5x40mm bolts * 6 nuts with nylon inserts for locking the wheels * 3 regular or nylon M5 nuts (for securing axis M5 bolts) * 6 M5 washers * 8 M4 12/15mm and 6 M4 10mm (or a total of 14 M4 10mm) Optional materials: * 11 M4 washers * 12 M4 nuts for additional options (to secure nuts inside in advance) * Options mount materials: + 2 M4 10mm bolts for belt mounting + 2 M4 10mm bolts with nuts for hotend mounting, plus 1 optional M4 15mm bolt + 1 M4 10mm bolt for end stop mounting + 2 M4 10mm bolts with 2 T-nuts for end stop stopper Update #3 (14.03.2017): For original openbuild v-slot compatibility, refer to the remix at Thingiverse http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2155251 and use mbot-xc-p1.stl instead of xc-p1.stl for openbuilds v-slot; for t-slot use the old xc-p1.stl. Update #2 (23.10.2016): Added supports for reinforced Tevo Tarantula mount xc_hotmount_p2*. Update #1 (23.10.2016): Included step files for carriage modifications in carriage_source_set_v1.zip.
