As 3D printing technology advances and costs decrease, it's now possible to replace costly equipment with improved quality. For instance, camera sliders are widely used in photography for art and marketing purposes, but their high price limits accessibility. This design offers a cost-effective solution for beginners and everyday users, featuring a modular design for the track and legs that can be customized according to individual needs. The track can be extended continuously with further additions, while extensions fit into leg holes for an aesthetically pleasing look. Most standard sliders have fixed lengths and no customizability options. This 3D-printed camera slider also allows for personalized designs to be embossed onto the track and legs. The standard legs enable a maximum displacement height of about 75mm, but can be extended further by 129mm for an additional height of 91.2mm. Height adjustments can also be made by altering leg angles in 15-degree intervals, providing smooth slopes for angled shots and stability on uneven surfaces. The modular design makes the Modular camera slider quadpod highly portable, as all components are less than 254mm in length and can be easily disassembled, packed compactly, and transported. Additionally, its low density PLA material makes it significantly lighter than aluminum alternatives, with a 900mm length track weighing only 477.57g compared to 2600g for similar lightweight aluminum tracks. The initial design focused on cameras with screw base mounting, but potential was seen for a cellphone adaptor to hold popular options as well. The slider aims to minimize friction while keeping the camera stable and avoiding leg pins.
