Modular Bricks
thingiverse
Some modular pieces that I have working to a point where I feel like I can share them. Tolerances still need some dialing in so they work in 100% of cases. Corner pieces should take slight force fit over wall ends. I'll add pictures and stuff over the weekend once I get a decent test build going. I designed this in Solidworks, so if you use that I can provide the actual part files if desired.I designed this for 1.375 in (35.9 mm) squares so scale accordingly if you prefer 1" squares.Update 5/26/24Welp, my printer had died and I finally got around to replacing it so work on this will probably pick up soon.Part of why I'm doing this - I like 3d modelling as a hobby and am a design/drafter by trade. While there are great existing tile systems out there, I think that a lot of them are material heavy. So I am trying to make this which sacrifices some aesthetics (and probably some ease of use) for something that uses a little less material. On this most recent update, I added some left, right and both straight sided doorways to use in the corner pieces. I also added a "top clip" piece that will clip into the top of the walls for multiple layers to use in lieu of the bulky top clip. Here is my goal To-Do, which I hope to get updated in the next month or so.Add a clip or something to the floor tiles to get them to stick together.Add 3 & 4 way top clip to enable to the floor tiles to be clipped, on 2nd levels.Additional inserts (torch, hidden/revolving door, etc)Half wallsAdditional textures on existing pieces
