Modular 3D Scanner

Modular 3D Scanner

Needing a desktop 3D scanner for my projects, I became very interested in the CICLOP designed by a Spanish inventor. I've also seen this great project on Kickstarter named FreeLSS: another impressive desktop scanner. The first one is powered by an Arduino and requires a computer to generate files, while the second one uses a Raspberry Pi, which makes it computer-free. I found plenty of useful information on Bill's assorted rambling blog and also on the Atlas 3D users Google group. I noticed that the reseller ReprapUniverse is selling the 3D Raptor kit, where you can find the same electronics and principle used for the Atlas FreeLSS. Unable to make a decision between both scanners, I've decided to design a structure that allows me to test each of them and also accepts improvements to the electronics and camera.
