3-19-2021 - UPDATE: There is a new REMIXed version of this, with some improvements to make it print quicker and easier. You can find it here:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4799899

7-18-2019 - UPDATE: The STEP file is uploaded now for easy remixing. The parts are printed and they seem to work, but I have not fully installed cables in it yet. The keystones also fit. Will leave it in work in progress until it is fully installed, but that could be a while.

6-27-2019 - UPDATE - The version "2U" files that are uploaded work, but the joint between the center module and side modules is very tight. I think this is a good thing since it means it will not sag, but be forewarned, it will take some persuasion or sanding to get it in. I did not have to sand anything, but used a rubber mallet, tapping on the back of the center module to get things connected. Also make sure to install the door before the sides since it is a pain to get the sides back off if that is missed (I know this from experience). Last tip on assembly is that it also helps to use a flat bladed screwdriver to wedge in the space between the case and the M4 locknut to keep it from spinning when tightening those 4 screws.

7-18-2019 - UPDATE: The STEP file is uploaded now for easy remixing. I'm planning to use these with BNC Keystones so the spacing is a bit further apart than my other keystone patch panel for Ethernet Keystones. The Keystone BNC jack I have are about 19mm wide, and the spacing here is 21mm.

There is also a tiny compartment in the center which servers to link the sides together.

This was designed so I can place a DVR in the 1U space below it (on a tray), which is why I had to create the lower profile setup here (the DVR is about 50mm tall). This provides me about 3+mm of clearance for the DVR.

I have not printed this yet, but will update here when I do.

I used the Keystone Jack receiver model based on MWU's thing here:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:548145

I also used pyr0ball's remix of MWU's model (converted MWU's model to STL), to help design this.

These need to be oriented for printing. I printed the larger modules in 0.25mm resolution with tree supports. The door and center module could be printed in a higher resolution.

For the Keystone modules, which were oriented with the fronts flat to the bed in a tall orientation, I used the support blocker feature in Cura to avoid supports above the first 12mm, where they are not needed.
Category: Electronics
