Contributions from both form and function were carefully weighed, alongside a rescue whistle and a strict rule, as the initial design proposals took shape in 3D printed prototypes, which were thoroughly reviewed and refined for optimal use. The whistle was ultimately ruled out due to concerns over hygiene and the significant complexity it would introduce to the printing process. We focused our efforts on perfecting the closing system, culminating in successful printouts across various types of 3D printers to validate the manufacturing files. The result is a functional keychain-knife combo featuring an auxiliary ruler in centimeters, cleverly split into two pieces for seamless assembly and replicability across any 3D printer. Furthermore, this innovative design seamlessly integrates with commercial "Utility Blades" spare parts, offering users unparalleled convenience and versatility.
