Make two into one: Modmic v5 'one cable' solution. For #hamradio (and other applications) I have been using Bose QC25 noise-cancelling headphones for years. However, since these only have a simple integrated microphone (in the lead) which picks up an uncomfortable amount of ambient noise, I use a ModMic V5 boom microphone with magnetic mount, which can also be easily detached for simple 'listening'. The ModMic has its own wiring, which can be attached to the existing headphone cable with some clips provided with the mic. IMO, this makes the whole construnction unfavourably inflexible and heavy, and in the end it doesn't look very nice either. In order to improve the wearing comfort, the idea of putting everything in one cable was obvious. I bought a cheap replacement cable from the Far East, broke open the microphone/remote control, adapted the cable to a jack socket and placed it in a self-printed housing. Connector used is a Lumberg KLB 4 (available for example from Conrad https://www.conrad.de/de/p/lumberg-klb-4-klinken-steckverbinder-3-5-mm-buchse-einbau-vertikal-polzahl-num-3-stereo-schwarz-1-st-738619.html) Edit: Please excuse the creative chaos (/mess) on the desk ;)
